Same Workshop Poetic Winter, Cape Cod Different Weekend March 31-April 1 (2007)

Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 10:00 AM

We drove to the Cape, me and Mr. McKinney. Some of you perhaps noticed that I had open a poll for the days in the Cape. I have been wanting to shoot the Cape in the winter for the Past two years and I finally got my wish this year. And it was truly Beautiful. I also checked the cottage in Eastham that I will be renting for the overnight and it is fine for 5 people.

The Cape in the winter time is totally different than any other seasons especially the usual summer time. It feels that it is finally yours and not the tourists. The air is different, the colors are different, the dunes are different and the lighting is soft and pleasant. As the sun was starting to set , we decided to look for few beaches. We found one off Route 6A as we drove toward Eastham. It was odd to see the Cape's famous dunes dusted with snow. We were both in awe and left the car and just enjoyed the novelty of strolling along the snow-covered sand and the waves that had turned into ice, listening to the sounds of the sea and allowing the brisk February air to awaken our senses. It was truly magical.
